A few weeks ago, I was on Pinterest when a particular image
caught my attention. It was one of a man swimming in a lake on his back, with
his dog asleep on his chest. I clicked on the image and read the blurb about
how he takes his dog out every night because the water helps with the dogs
arthritis and allows the dog to rest. It’s an image that captured my heart, and
I guess it’s captured the hearts of others as well. The photograph and blurb
went viral, and then today I saw this article:
The article blew me away! It turns out that since the
photograph was put on Facebook and then pinterest, and all of the other sites,
people began to give donations to the dogs owner to help treat the dogs
arthritis. There was so much money donated, that the owner realized that it was
too much money to use just on his dog, so he has since opened a foundation to
help other people take care of their aging dogs too! It just goes to show how
an image can be such a powerful tool. One photograph has saved the life of this
dog, and will end up saving the lives of other dogs too, and it also gave great
business to the person who took the photograph. Seems like Art can be a never ending
circle of giving, which I love!
