When i was reading the readings that were due today for Art, Science & Technology, i got to thinking about how Video Games are influential to people even if they aren't aware of it! When i started on the section about video games i was thinking to myself " i don't feel like they're that relevant to me.." because i don't personally play video games and i don't have any interest in video games. Unless you count racing games, haha. So i was sitting there thinking about that, and then as i was reading along and more and more points were being brought up about the influence that video games have had on art and other aspects of life. I started to check myself! Then i had this memory that i haven't even remembered in forever!
When i was quite a bit younger, i played this online video game where you are a worker in a fast food reference and you create all the food that people order. The game gets faster and faster, and the orders become more and more complex, and you have to work really hard to get the orders correct and completed on time, or else you will get fired! I realized that this really did have a significant impact on my life, because when it came to finding a job i knew i didn't want to get a job in fast food because of how stressful that game was! I didn't make this connection at all until i was reading through the readings for class and then all of a sudden i was aware that Video Games really have had an impact on my life. How interesting!
